Surreal Rainbow Ghia

This unusual image is the result of some great electronic photography--combined with some great "after-the-fact" electronic photographic manipulation--by our good friend and fellow antique VW enthusiast, Roland Metz. It is one of two images that were originally taken on July 2, 2006, near Katonah, NY, by Roland, when he was out driving in his 1964 VW Karmann Ghia Cabriolet. Upon seeing the beautiful rainbow in the distant sky, Roland pulled his car over and did his best to record the scene with his digital camera. It wasn't until some work with the images in a "photoshop" computer program, however, that Roland came up with something truly unique. This is one of his images, which, to me, almost looks unreal, or airbrushed.
