Preserved Merritt Parkway Toll Booth Plaza

I've been taking some opportunities lately to gather up various materials about the Merritt Parkway, Southern Connecticut's beautiful and historic highway, first opened in 1940.

This particular photo was taken by my good friend Roland Metz, when he visited a preserved original Merritt Parkway toll booth plaza that is on disply at Boothe Memorial Park in Stratford, CT. As can be seen, this and the other Merritt Parkway toll booths were removed from the road in 1988.
