The 1964 VW known as "Thrashwell Snailbee"

Here's a vintage picture from the mid-1980s showing my sister-in-law Sue's beloved 1964 VW that she nicknamed "Thrashwell Snailbee" (you might be able to make out "THRASHWELL" on the front custom made plate, along with a red heart).

I have posted an inquiry in the general AACA Forums about the origins of the name "Thrashwell Snailby," that was apparently originated in some car enthusiast magazine, perhaps some time in the 1970s.
