Our Ft Lauderdale Region was invited to display our members 25+ year old antiques in the heart of Ft Lauderdale. There were both wine and craft beer vendors dispensing products to the thousands of those who bought a plastic bracelet. Accordingly, their seemed to be some member reluctance to display vehicles in the center of the street, which was the idea of the promoter. Many of our region’s members preferred to display their cars in the more “controlled” and somewhat hidden parking lot behind the bandstand, which also afforded a more centralized social environment (which many of our older members look forward to.)
None the less, the event was a rousing success with the region getting widespread inner-city exposure. The voting for Best of Show was done by the visitors to the event. The vehicle taking the “Beer&Wine” d-i-y trophy, made by our dedicated Event Chairman, was the tiny front-door BMW Isetta.
