The MAF in my 89 3.8L Buick had gone out - replacement part cost $150 for a "remanufactured" (which with a part like this says its been cleaned and tested to me) part. My trip to a buddies yard yielded 2 MAF from 93 & 95 vintage models.

Is there a trick to remove the cam gear on a straight 8 (248). I removed the center bolt with no problems but the gear is stuck. Does it need to be pulled off with a puller? Is there a key way that is involved? It is very heavy covered in sludge
