There used to be a place in Detroit, Michigan called ACME Paint where my aunt used to work. They had or maybe still have the formulas if they are still in business. I believe they supplied a lot of paint for the auto companies. Could you submit a photo of your car. I have two 1931 Dodge DH business coupes and have never seen the cabriolet for '31. Need anything else for that car? John at keiser31@charter.net

You might try "Auto Color Library". They advertise that they have the formulas for auto paint from the 1900s to present day.

All auto paint companies have the formulae for colors back to the 1920s or earlier.
Ask your favorite supplier. They will not have them, but can ask head office and get them within 24 hours.
Old formula cards will not work, all paint companies reformulate their paints every few years as they develop new chemistry. You need to get the up to date information.

I do not believe any paint company will have modern formulas for 70+ year paint. I know of a few car buffs having problems getting formulas for 1960's colours.
What you can do, though, is to take paint chips of the colours you want to an outfit with a colour scanner. They have the ability today to scan paint and come up with a formula in modern paints. Should warn you that apparently not all colours can be formulated in the today's paints, for some reason.

Bill W. is correct, not all colors transfer to modern paints. MAny colors even from the 60's can't be exact in base clear. My understanding is urathane and enamel cross over the best.

The last of the special built pedal cars will be going up for sale at the RM Auctions in Scottsdale in January. Built by the renown restorer Fran Roxas, this "Dusey" is truly is another work of art.
