I have a question I hope is not too mundane. I have to drive over a gravel road to get back and forth from my home. Consequently, the dash and seats get dusty and kind of gritty. Also, I live at high altitude so the sun is pretty strong. I know about using Leatherique but wonder if that should be used for frequent cleanings, i.e. every couple of weeks. Is there another product people suggest to keep the inside clean and supple? Thanks for the help.

Hey Mark,
I have some stuff that I got from a lady that did refinished and repaired my seats. It looks like, and is the consistency of milk. You apply it with a lambs-wool pad and work it into the leather and man this stuff works! My burgundy leather was getting very dry and starting to get some hairline cracks. I applied this stuff in a slightly heavier dose and it made the leather nice and supple again. She buys it in bulk and resells so I'm not sure if she'll give up the name of the stuff....I'll try to get hold of and see what I can find out. In the meantime, you could also try emailing her through her website (www.iloveleathers.com) and ask about it. Her name is Deb. She redid both my black seats for my TC, not sure if she'd remember me... I'm sure she would be able to sell and ship the stuff though... She said she also has it in a spray bottle for touching up just prior to car shows...

Like you Mark, I found the Leatherique too greasy and heavy for every week use, it does tend to attract all sorts of dust and grit So as an every week cleanedr I just picked up some flavor-of-the-week leather care spray (Mother's I think?) unscrewed the top and added maybe an ounce of Leatherique to it. Best of both worlds Shake well before using...

Used your idea and seemed to work fine. Hope to keep some of the dust off, but if not at least this is easy to use.

Another good thing you can use for routine interior cleaning is Murphy's Oil Soap. Smells good too. Not expensive and no petroleum or silicate products, which are bad for leather.
