David,

Parts for those are tough. Do you want a new grill or a used one??

The other stuff is not easy to find, and as a matter of fact we had to salvage the same things on our truck because those items aren't available. Another word of wise is the hood hinges. Hood hinges aren't available and if you have a decent set of hinges, consider yourself lucky.

A copy of the dealer literature on the 1937 Plymouth pickup is available at the AACA Library. The information that they have on that vehicle were provided to them by me. I will say that despite what anyone tries to tell you, the bed of that truck is painted the body color, fenders can be painted either black or body color, and the cylinder head is painted a different color than the rest of the block. The wiring harness to that vehicle is available at Rhode Island Wire Company.

If you have any questions, I can help you out. A lot of the Plymouth specific items are tough to find, but restoration materials and reproduction stuff I can direct you where to find that.

Deciding to restore a 37 Plymouth PT 50 may have a bad choice. The availability of parts is starting to become an issue. I just like to be different, and drive something that no one else in my area drives.

Very true, but if you can get them done nice, they turn a lot more heads.

Aside from the grill, every item that you need, we don't have, and had to salvage what we had because we couldn't find it either.

Although it didn't work for us, did you try the Plymouth Club??

I agree; The '37 PT-50 is a real head turner. I did a body-off restoration on one about 9 years ago. I'm Chevy guy but I hated to turn that Plymouth over to it's owner. The truck had'58 Plymouth six and had been converted to 12v. Found an original '37 truck motor and every thing needed to restore to orig (that's what the owner wanted). Hemmings, Hershey, Plymouth Club all good assets. Didn't do much with internet then, but sure would today. Good luck with the project, it will be worth it!

I live in South East Oklahoma, I have shipped fenders on a Greyhound bus before fairly inexpensive. Just let me know.

Waiting to get my camera back so I can post pictures. Where in Oklahoma? A couple of my friends have heard that Greyhound does not have a tracking system and there parts got lost. I'll check on the price. Send your email address so I can send the pics. Mike

I have had both good and bad experience shipping fenders on Greyhound. Now for the bad. Believe it or not they lost a pair (that's right, I said pair!) of NOS '47 - '48 Ford front fenders. I had purchased them, thus I was not the one who boxed them up. I'd have to try to dig up the details but I seem to remember they only will insure up to $300.
It was a bad experience for both me and the seller.

I'm restoring 1938 RD-11 Dodge truck. I know PARTS ARE HARD TO FIND. rear fenders, rboards, stuff.. But! The parts are out there, you just need to find 'em smile

We don't have Autozones or NAPA's here in Finland, so almost everything I need must be ordered from US. And locate them first. But I have managed to find good resources..
