The Manitoba Classic and Antique Auto Club hosted the annual Red River Valley Swap Meet today. There were more Buicks than usual in attendance today, with 4 for sale. It was a beautiful day, sunny and we went over 60 for temperature today.

Here's some photos - click on the thumbnail for a full size image.

This '51 was for sale for $1100. I didn't get details personally as I figured it was close enough to our '52 Roadmaster, which is in better shape. If anyone wants more info, let me know and I can dig around.

This GS 350 was for sale for $650. I do have a phone number if anyone wants.

I didn't get photos of the other two Buicks for sale. One was Ewing's '72 Riviera...he can post photos and details if anyone wants. I did send my wife to talk with him since she likes the boattail Rivieras, but it does need some body work and she thinks we have enough projects. The other was a '77 Regal 2 door with a Landau roof. The interior was nice, but the driver's seat was showing wear. The dash is cracked, but not significantly. I didn't look closely, but there was obviously rust on the fenders behind the front wheels. I watched this car drive away and it sounded OK. The asking price was $750 and I have that phone number as well.

On to the rest of the show.

Wayne's '57 Roadmaster...he wasn't really pleased about the stone chip he took on the way to the show.

Our Ellie.

Lovely '70 GS 455 convertible. It had dealer plates on it, so it is in a dealer's inventory, but not sure whether or not it is for sale.

My small Buick nuts.

I just thought this was neat with the Pontiac and the trailer.

Row of cars including our 1941 41SE (hood up showing off the compound carburetion).

This shot features a relatively new BCA member's 1941 Limited. It is neat him having that car...in the span of under a year, I believe, the club went from having no '41 Buicks to having two.

First generation Riviera.

This shot of a Pontiac Grand Parisienne is particularly for Shaffer...I thought of him when I saw the car and figured I'd better take a photo and include it.

My feet are sore, my skin is approaching sore, and I'm a bit poorer (not much as this local swap meet doesn't typically have much Buick stuff)...so it was a good swap meet.

First of all, the Buick Nuts are growing up.

Second, Ellie is looking very smart. This is the first picture I have seen since the restoration pictures.

I guess the snow has finally melted in the Great White North.

Say hi to Suzanne, THE BOSS.

Well, the snow is gone, but there is still some ice around...those who got out fishing this weekend for the opener, were sometimes dodging ice floes.

Isn't it funny about Ellie? I don't have any decent photos of her since June 2006 when I took shots of her at the body shop and mechanical shop that did the work on her. I've been looking...I guess it is time to wash her, work on a few paint flaws, polish and wax, then look for a nice place to take a photo or two.

I was pleasantly surprised today...Buicks are coming out of the woodwork...we've got something like 750,000 folks living within an hour of Winnipeg, but I've seen more Buicks in the past year that I'd never seen before...it's great.

The '41 also attracted a lot of attention. One fellow talked my ear off - his father had one in the same paint combination in Ontario a number of years ago, and did a double-take wondering if this was the same car. Another elderly gentleman chatted with me briefly. He asked if I'd bought the car from the gentleman I did. It turns out he's a good friend of the previous owner and had gone down to Minnesota with him to pick the car up and bring it back to Winnipeg. He was excited to be able to report back to his friend about the Bronze Award it won last summer and that the car is being well cared for and is being driven and shown.
