When I try to open the hood on my battered 90 convert, the rear wants to dip and it won't open until I wrestle the rear corners up a little while opening. I not that most of the bolts holding the rear hinges to the frame are stripped to the extent that they will not really tighten down. I am not really sure that is the problem, but I do want to secure them.
1. What is at the other side of these bolts? Tack welded speed nut?
2. How to access them? Take off the plastic inner wheel well covers?
3. Any idea on why the hood wants to sink in the rear when opening? Is this a matter of some kind of adjustment, or are the stops on the rear bulkhead cricial to opening the hood [mine are missing]?

Richard,

Attached are pix of the hood hinge; can you specify where the trouble seems to be? Then maybe we can comment.

Regards,
Jack C.

I suspect the pivots on the rear link are rusted and want to hold the rear up because they are not pivoting.

Try lubricating them liberaly and work the hood up and down.
