It appears to be a Chrysler Windsor club coupe of 1946, 1947 or 1948 model year. Those 3 years look the same.

Look for the serial number on the left door pillar. This will allow a positive identification.

There is also a metal plate under the hood, on the left side of the firewall. This contains details of the body, model, color, and upholstery.

The engine was a flathead straight 6. It can be identified by a serial number stamped on the engine block. The number is on the left side, at the front, at the top of the engine block.

The engine number should start with C38 if it is the original engine. On top of the engine you should see the word "Spitfire".

To me any old automobile like this Chrysler is of interest to someone. However, the market for old cars may be limited in Peru and Chile. So if you want to purchase it be cautious about the amount you pay for it.

The Chrysler was an expensive car in its day. The Chrysler Corporation's lineup was Plymouth, low priced car. Dodge, medium priced car. DeSoto, upper medium priced car. Chrysler, high priced car.

In the Chrysler lineup the Royal six cylinder was lowest priced model.

Next came the Windsor six which was the same as the Royal except for better trim and appointments.

The Windsor was by far the most popular Chrysler with a total of nearly 200,000 sold in the 3 years 1946-47-48.

They also made a New Yorker straight eight which was a luxury car comparable to a Cadillac, Lincoln, Packard or Buick. And the even more expensive Chrysler Imperial which was a real millionaire's car.

The Chrysler Windsor would be comparable to today's smaller BMWs or possibly a Lexus, Audi or similar car.

Chrysler was one of the most popular cars in its class. They were also a well made, reliable and durable car. Many thousands of them have survived to the present day.

In one sense they are rare, as to be expected for a 60 year old car. But in another sense, many have survived so they are not particularly rare for a car that old.

Most parts are easily available in the US. Motor, tires, brakes, steering mechanisms etc parts are easy to get from ordinary auto parts stores, Ebay and from antique parts specialists. Body parts and trim parts, much more difficult.
