Fred, WELCOME TO THE FORUM. There is much, in fact a great deal written about this topic in the "Search" function of the forum. I think that some of our regulars will chime in with some resolutions anyway which may save you much time....I am thinking AeroShell :).

You shouldn't have to disassemble the taillight assembly, the oxidation is almost always on the exterior of the outer lens only. Disassembling the taillight is something you probably want to avoid.

Aeroshell plexicoat seems to work the best for removing the haze and gives the longest-lasting result, but any plastic polish will work.

I used Dupont Chrome polish on wife's front plastic headlights and it worked great.

Whenever I wax my Reatta with a high quality wax, I do the taillight assembly. It was cloudy before, and now is clear.

I use Zaino fusion polish along with my Porter Cable orbital polisher, it brought the lenses up real clear. I then follow up with a coat of Zaino clear seal.

Is the AreoShell product something you have to special order or is it a retail item that can be purchased from parts stores like Autozone, etc.

Thanx,
Mike

To purchase Aeroshell Plexicoat for a bricks-and-motar location you'd need to go to an aviation shop as it's designed for plastic aircraft windshields.

It's easily available online though, just google it.
