If a seventy-year-old guy can be a “newbie” then I am one.
Hi! Thanks for providing this nice forum.
Here’s one of the seller’s photos of my Reatta that I brought home on Tuesday of this week:
It is a 1990 with ~72,000 miles, the AC blows cool but not cold, the driver’s side headlight needs several bumps on the switch to position properly. Everything else seems to be OK. The paint is original (I think) and there is no visible rust. The interior is clean, maybe too clean as the visible part of the carpeting is a shade or two lighter than the carpet in the rear floor storage compartments. Never-the less, the interior looks great.
I paid $3700.00 plus I ate the $51.00 credit card charge.
More exterior and interior photos here:

On Wednesday my wife pressed the headlight switch while I started troubleshooting. The headlight motor worked but had insufficient torque to lift the lamp assembly. The supply voltage checked good so I knew it was most likely to be a mechanical problem. Sure enough when I popped open the large gear assembly a bunch of plastic “sand” fell out. I could not deduce immediately what failed but via this forum and a photo in E-bay, I now know that all three of the small rollers failed. I have them on order.
So already I’m in debt to the posters on this forum…Thanks!
Steve - who took out three or four times as many bolts and screws to access the motor lift assembly then he needed to.

Well you are right once the 3 rollers go then the bellcranks go also, while you are there contact Barney Eaton and replace the bellcranks at the same time, ane do both sides, one one goes the other is not far behind. Now join the Buick Club of America and then join the Reatta Club and you will always have a good time with your car. In looking at the photos that you posted, the sunroof is aftermarket as the factory ones were metal and painted the color of the car. Make sure that you send the vin to Barney also for the data base. You have a nice looking car

…At last some one with a dealer installed sunroof. I also have one…
Now don’t get any ideas, you can’t have mine for a spare. By the way, where do you park your Reatta over-night?
…Did you check the lift arms on the headlights?…
All other parts seem OK and ready for at least several hundred cycles. I’ll replace the rollers on the passenger side since the kit I ordered had two sets of rollers. I wish I had known about Barney a few days earlier.
Here’s a link to some photos of the lift components before re-assembly; I had the rotor out but I forgot to take a photo of it:

Thanks for reply - Steve

Do you have the sunblocker that came with the sunroof?
No, but the artwork must block at least %50 of the sunlight. Does yours have the artwork? Do you have a photo of the sun blocker?
