Hello!

Here's a car found at an old familiy album. My father told me that this car was the first ever in our region (Cologne, Germany). Any hints?

Thank you!
Daniel

Cool Car!

The filename said "erstes". Wonder if that is a hint?

Welcome to the AACA Forum, GREAT PHOTO! The car is a German built Piccolo, the first air cooled car built in Germany, it had a V-twin engine. I was a very popular car that was used in post cards at the time, I'll post a few as soon as I find them. thank you for posting the photo!

Daniel, I think the car in your photo is a 1904-05 based in the wire wheels. The ones in the postcards all have wood wheels and carry 1907-08 postmarks. The car was produced 1904- 1907.

The two green cars in the colorizes postcards may or may be the same as the two cards I first posted. The car in the black & white photo is a four passenger dos a dos seating vehicle, the backrest is visable behind the head lamps.
