this is using the hayden#3647 fan switch kit and a 170 thermostat the kit is sold a advance auto for under 40$

I have an '88 model. I used the Hayden #3652 mentioned in the article. Details can be found here: http://forums.aaca.org/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/501896#Post501896

As information, the probes for sensing temperature that install in the radiator, included in the Hayden kits, do not work as advertised. At least not for me. I had to mount the sensor on the engine to get an accurate reading.
