I am trying to figure out the paint code for my 49 Super. The car has been repainted many years ago. As far as I can tell, the original color may be black, as is the newer color.

The plate states: "Paint No. I K M"

Can anyone help with this?

Dear Galen:
Paint code 1 is for a Carlsbad Black, and KM is a plant code for where it was painted (Kansas City). Your frame number will confirm that as it has as it's first digit a plant code numeric.
I hope this helps
