Does anyone know for sure what color the wheels (rims) on a 56 New Yorker should be. Black, body color, or something else. Thanks...........Bob

Black seems to be the agreed upon color of the folks who responded here and another forum. That works for me, especially since the top will be black and will be a nice match. Thanks all........Bob

Be glad you're not working on a Pre-War MoPar...
My '41 De Soto had it's wheels two-toned at the factory: the outer "rim section" was black, and the center part was Balfour Green (kind of moss-green). There was a double-band of pinstripe around the outer lip of the rim (where the balance-weights live), and a double-stripe around the hub-cap. Pinstripes were silver.
Car body was black.
Oh, and the backsides were painted the MoPar "corporate" under-body blue-gray...
I'm pretty sure they went to one-color wheels when production resumed in '46.

Oy Vey. I spent the the better part of an entire day striping the rims on my 39 Chev. And that was just a simple 2 stripe job.........Bob
