Found another bad tire out of the same lot number. Safety is a serious concern.

I've been working on the front end of my 1915 C-36. With some of the problems that I have found, it is a wonder that it stayed together last year! The threads were almost non-existant on one of the tierod ends. \:o

I have made a new one and also new tierod pins and bushings. Also, will re-bearing the front end with tapered roller bearings.

It really pays to go though things just to be as sure as you can that it is safe and enjoyable. Dave!

Would you believe these tires only have five (5) miles on them. I purchased these Silvertown Cords in March 2007. Check your tires for cracks with the serial number ending in 99 if you own Silvertown Cord Tires.

Wow, 1 year and 5 miles and they look like that? I'd be hopping mad and making some calls, that's for sure. They look like they dried out and rotted. I've got a spare set of wheels/tires sitting around from when I used to race. They have a lot of race miles on them, but they still hold air and aren't cracked. Not that I would drive on them, but they're 13 years old with 5000 brutal miles on them, have been sitting in the hot/freezing attic for a decade and they don't look nearly that bad. Where did you buy them? Perhaps they'll make it good.

Matt,
I purchased these tires at Coker Tire Co. Coker Tire Co. will replace them but the catch is they charge you the difference from the date of purchase to todays current price. I now of seven (7) Whitewalls and two (2) Black tires being returned to Coker as of today in the same condition. Coker will waive the current price difference if you push the issue, I just straightened that out.
