i just purchased an original 55 98 holiday. has power seats, but the seat dosen't travel very far backward. is it hard to get an extra couple of inches extra travel. car is original, i had the same trouble with a 56 coupe de ville that i tried out not to long ago. were people that much smaller in the middle 50,s? (i've lost 4o lbs, so don't tell me to reduce my middle) thanks, al

I remember reading in a shop manual that the seat tracks had two sets of mounting hole, so the seat could be relocated if necessary. Don't know if that applies to your '55 or not.
