HELLO, I NEED THE TORQUE SPEC FOR A 38 BUICK SPECIAL SERIES 40 STRAIGHT 8 CYLINDER HEAD TORQUE.. THE 38 MANUAL IS VERY UNCLEAR OTHER THAN USING A 9 INCH WRENCH.. PLEAS HELP.. THANKS, BOB. THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN MY FAMILY SINCE 1941. IT WAS MY GRANDFATHERS CAR.

Bob, My Motor's Manual sayz for Buick 1935-42 all engines, cylinder head torque is 65-70 ft lbs. The tightening sequence is the same for 1935 thru 53. You start in the middle and work your way to the front alternating sides then go back to the middle and work your way to the back. Personally I would do it in three steps, starting at about 40 lbs then 55 and then 65-70. Hope that helps.

A 9 inch wrench with your off hand (left and you are right handed) \:\) per '38-39 Shop Manual. We actually did one that way and it worked.
