I am about to receive my '49 Super. I've never actually seen the car, but had a friend run over and take pictures.

I have seen through my studies of these Buicks that there were some different Ventiport options. Some have just round chrome rings. Others have these same rings, but with louvered slates covering the hole (like the ones on mine), while at least once I saw some with some sort of a chrome screen.

Can anyone explain this? Were these features a dealer option?

Also, my Buick has spot lights attached to both sides of the front window frame. Was this also a dealer option? Any value/point to keeping these?

The loovered slats were a common "aftermarket add on" that inserted into the regular Buick ventiports/portholes. The usual correct Buick/Guide spotlights of that vintage came thru the door and had a mirror mounted on the back of them - I don't believe the pillar spotlights are correct for that era but could be wrong.
