A windshield for sale keeps popping up on eBay for $875 and free shipping. The listing number is Item number: 260213029157, have any of you other owners tried buying from this place in Phoenix? Is it legit, and do they ship it well packed so it arrives intact? I would really like your input because I need to replace my windshield, it has developed a crack at the bottom clear across the driver and passenger sides probably due to the winter weather and the temp fluctuations here in the Wichita Kansas area this winter.

That phone number is for a yard that has several names...
The Buick Place
Speedway Automotive
Phil Hertel is the owner and the has close to 200 wrecked Reattas. I have done business with him without problems.
I have no idea how he might ship the part, does the shipping price give you any clues?

One item related to your location.
The Heartland Regonal of the BCA will be in Topeka KS August 20-23
If you live within driving distance, the host always puts on a great regional meet. I am sure they will have a Reatta class...... I intend to take my 1991 coupe.

i ordered a windshield from them once and it arrived broken, so when ups saw the value on the insurance claim, they mandated that they start shipping all glass in crates starting with my replacement window. second one was great, would do business again without hesitation. i hate ups (some of my closest friends are supervisors and managers there, so i especially hate ups ;\) good luck

Having read that someone shipped a Reatta windshield by UPS just astonishes me. Our family has been in the glass business since 1953. We have spent approx 30 years shipping glass worldwide. A week does not go by that we don't ship internationally. For us to crate and ship a glass or several windows anywhere is no big deal, it's what we do. But sending something like this UPS is what causes UPS to deny claims and refuse glass. This item needs to be properly crated, banded inside resting on a skid to prevent forks from pinching it.
We probably shipped a couple of hundred Reatta windshields back in the 90's without 1 getting damaged..
Now if anyone needs a new back window we did just get one in. Let me know year and I can confirm what we have. It's a lot cheaper than the front windshield from LOF(Pilkington).

Good morning,

I noted a Reatta windshield on Ebay this morning - -it's near the end of the listings. Might be worth someone's while to have a look at it.

Regards,
Jack C.

I will be needing to get a new windshield soon. This is an insurance deal and I need to get two estimates and I know the glass companies here won't have a clue where to get a windshield.

If they need help finding one can you or Barney help me so I can help them? I just need some place the insurance company and glass company will accept.

Man, I sure would like to have it. My dam? brother-in-law used to be long haul truck driver, West-East, and would pick things up for me when he had room. Unfortuantely he is serving 10 years at the invitation of the State of Calif.

Barney,
Where exactly is the Heartland Regional going to be held in Topeka, the BCA page doesn't say? When you go you will be driving up I-35 I suspect and going right through Wichita, my home and booreatta's home too, maybe we can meet up with you.
