Matt, a friend of mine from the Antique Automobile Club of America, is asking for your prayers and positive thoughts for his wife. Valerie was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. It is in the bile duct in her liver. It is considered at this time to be inoperable. She was accepted for treatment at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America location in Philadelphia. She will begin treatment in the next day or two. Most likely radiation and chemo according to Matt.

This is a very nice couple. His mom and dad live in Charleston, W. Va. right up the road from where I live. I actually knew them before I ever met him on the AACA Discussion Forum. Bill and I have now met Matt and Valerie in person on several occasions when they come to town to visit with his family here.

If you would like to send a message to them reply to me and I will forward it on to them. I know that they would appreciate it.

In additon Matt has set up a website that you can check out.

They're both nice people.

I met Matt and Valerie in Greensburg back when he brought out his '69 AMC Hurst SC/Rambler. Both of them are grass roots down to earth people.

I was just thinking that I hadn't heard from him in a while, and now that I do, it's a bad thing.

I have had very pleasant e-mail contact with Matt in the past and he impressed me as a really genuine, sincere enthusiast and all-around good guy. I am very sorry to hear of the medical challenges Valerie is now facing and I wish them all the best, and send along all sincere good thoughts and prayers. I hope they know their many AACA friends are behind them and thinking of them.

Thanks to all of you that have sent prayers for my wife Valeri, please keep them coming.
Sorry I haven't been around in a while as things have been pretty crazy in our lives here the past couple of years. What had seemed to be large promblems just don't matter anymore with Valeri fighting liver cancer. She is only 41 years old and never had any bad habbits, Hard to believe this has happend. Please see our story and car at,

http://www.highwayofhope.com

See the enjoyment we have had with our car in this video,

Valeri just had her first treatment at "Cancer Treament Centers of American" and I have to say the care there is outstanding. We believe Valeri has a great chance to prolong her life with a good quality here. Maybe they will even find a cure soon,we are praying that will be the case for all person with cancer.
I will now find a way to use our Hurst SC/Rambler for promoting cancer awareness !!! Valeri has a rare type of cancer so little money has been used to find a cure. I will be a advocate for Valeri and her rare cancer the rest of my life.
God Bless,
Matt & Valeri

Matt,

Thanks for coming in here and keeping us informed. I know it is got be hard on you to do that. It is great to see you have started a fundraiser. Any little bit sure helps I know that somewhat firsthand. We have a 17 year nephew that is going through treatments for Burkitt Lymphoma. My sister-law went to go pick up some meds at the pharmacy the first day home after his first treatment and wow what a sock $5000 for only a week’s supply.

Again our deepest prays and thoughts go out to Valeri and you.
