Wayne, I was hoping that someone would look at these incredible photos of this winter open car tour. I didn't mean to suggest that we Americans are soft -- just that nobody does tours like that over here. Well, I haven't heard of them, anyway.
I have a couple of old Antique Automobile magazines from the 60's & 70's. I think they have sign-ups for European Tours in them. Does the AACA still do that? I realize that it would be, uh, kind of expensive; but it would kind of neat if some of us Americanskis went over & joined them on the tour with some of our cars. It could be called the "Over There" Tour!
I e-mailed my fellow Peerless Club member Philippe about the photos, and said my guess about the "magic potion" being consumed in some of the pictures was Port, Aquavit, or Belgian Ale. Maybe he'll write back and tell us what they're tanking-up on to keep warm. I just joined the AACA last month and have never been on a tour. Would it be normal for a club tour to have lots of checkpoints where you can toss down wine and beer??? Maybe things are different over there. ---Jeff

Jeff, my Title was just a play on words. It makes members look and said, "I wonder what that fool is talking about now?"
As far as tours overseas go, I've haven't been a member long enough to know of any. Of course, we had the Puerto Rico Meet last year, which was a big success.
With every Tour I know of in the states, there are multiple stops all day, called rest stops, or coffee breaks. Now, the brand of coffee would be what you normally would find at a restaurant. I'm not saying you couldn't bring your own brand along, though.
Generally speaking, you would have your "highball" entertainment in the evening hours, before an organized dinner, for instance.
That was a very interesting web site. We're open for them at any time.
Thanks again, Wayne

Wayne,
They call that the devils nectar.
All kidding aside tours are the greatest thing to do with an old car.
