Hi: I have a J2 setup with progressive linkage, carbs setup by Vintage Speed with ported vac on control center carb and it is vented on top. The 2 outside or dump carbs are vented also, but I see on old original vac setup the dump carbs are controled by a vac switch on the center control carb. Question is do the dump carbs need to be vented or not? Am I just evaporating fuel out of the 2 dump carb vents when not using them or do I need the vents due to proggresive manual linkage not original vac system??? Thanks for you responce. Dave

If the carbs are not vented, the system will run extremely rich.

Another question would be did you maintain the original clearance in the front to rear rod when you converted to progressive manual linkage. Failure to maintain the proper clearance will result in poor idle quality.
