Philip,
Once you get into looking at this job you'll find access to most of these is very, very poor. And there is no nut, it's just a (Speed Nut/ Blind Nut) threaded sleeve/ washer spot welded to light steel stamped box structure in there.
Pour the penetrating Oil to it several times over a day or so and then start with an impact driver, it either breaks the bolt or the speed nut comes loose or hopefully the bolt comes out.
I had one speed nut come loose in mine up front. Was able to get through behind the horn through a cutout to be able to get a set of vice grips on the sleeve part of the speed nut.
This is really hard to picture until you get in there and start digging around to find where the thread piece is actually located!
When I was doing my rebuild I didn't encounter the issue with the front springs since the whole front end was dismantled with 1/2 shafts pulled etc. If the lower ball joints are not popped off then you need spring compressors otherwise the body wants to lift right off.

For some reason I didn't get to read your reply Greg. Thanks for the points, and I now know what you mean from my investigation of them today. They're definitely not easy to deal with
