Being that the car has sat for a long time the points will have oxidized. Run a piece of fine emery though them to get the contacts clean. Then some paper to wipe them off. This usually works but, if the silver platinum plating is almost non-existent

Stude 8, The rod in the photo is the good one of the two. The other side has a rod that was fabricated and missing one of the adjusting nuts. I have posted this on the Stutz club site. We were on our way to Hershey last week but did not make it.

on my 65 rivi the dash pot made no difference. i had it once as new part installed but de-installed it because my 401 doesn't stall.

Bobby, I would almost put money on the power wire being the cause of your over heating. Look at it this way if you are running a 500 watt amp you should at least have a #8 wire (8 gauge). 500+ to 1,000 watts use no smaller than #4 (4 gauge). These
