Dick, not sure if this will help or not, but I just had to replace the fan clutch on my '63 Electra and posted a similar question on the BCA Post War Tech forum a while ago. Someone posted a part number which I took to NAPA and they cross referenced

The thread size into the carb is a standard pipe thread 1/8" with an outside diameter of 0,405" and 27 threads/inch. If any of your bowls has this thread I am interested. I also think that one can use a crosspipe going from one size to anot

Clarify a few things. Does the car idle rough all the time or just the first time it is started after sitting for a while? Does it idle good after the first start? If it idles good after the first time it starts you could possibly have and injector

Nice looking car. Wife and I wore out 3 MGBs as daily drivers. Loved them then but don't want another. I saw this car in Melbourne and it is a very nice restoration indeed. Brought back many fond and several not so fond memories.

I have driven both, and both have problems however the TC's problems are simple to fix (exaust, smec, cut a 1/2 a coil, rear sway bar, badge and trim upgrades) where the caddy is hopless unless you get the northstar and hope the rest hangs togeather.
