Our volunteer fire department is in the process of rebuilding a 1923 fire engine. This truck is the first motorized fire pump our organization owned. We had a person start to rebuild the engine. For personal reasons he could not complete the project. Almost all of the machine work has been completed and the ingine is now ready to be re-assembled. We are looking for specifications to complete the assembly. Valve tolerances, bolt torques spec's and so on. Once the engine is rebuilt we will be able to send the chassis to the company that converted the truck into a fire apparatus, they are still in business but have no information on REO.
I have only one piece of information from the chassis. The number 113807 is stamped into the top of the frame on the drivers side. The engine is a four cylinder. The starter is chain driven.
The Waconia Minnesota Fire Department is made up of 35 volunteers. We serve the city of Waconia (pop. 5000) and portions of two townships that surround us. We handle fire, medical and rescue calls and had well over 300 calls in 1998. The truck will be rebuilt with a portioncof the funds being supplied through the city and the remainder by fundraising efforts of the department.
If you have any information you might be able to provide please send to
Perry Hartmann @ Jasper Engineering
email perry@jasperengineering.com
Phone 1-800-776-6184
Fax 612-935-7772
1422 S. 5th Street
Hopkins MN 55343
