My 1 year old transmission will not remain in gear when I shift to low or drive. If I put the shift in overdrive it works fine (for how long ?) I was told the computer is not sending the correct code to the transmission in those two shift positions. Anyone know where the computer is located in the car, and what one will cost, difficulty to replace, etc. Thanks, Buzz

I presume you have a 3.0 V6 with a 4sp OD trans. The trans electronic controller is mounted to the inside right front fender. It's the first thing right behind the radiator support.
Who told you it was the controller and what kind of testing did they do to arrive at this conclusion. Lou

Lou is right!
Get more testing done, doubtful that it's the electronic transmission controller, they just don't fail unless the car has been under water. Take it to a good transmission shop that know Chrysler electronic automatic transmissions. They will be able to plug into the computer and tell you what's going on with the transmission. This is not a do it yourself project, seek professional help.
