I'm restoring an Olympic hubcap. Was the lettering painted or left chrome? If the lettering was painted, what color was it? Thanks!

The lettering and recessed area around the raised lettering was painted black, as was the stripe around the circumference. These hubcaps are available as new reproductions from Jeff Hasslen.

Here's a photo of an Olympic hubcap. The last time I checked, Jeff Hasslen did not have any new hubcaps.
