At minimum, 1907-1913, based on photos in Standard Catalog of Buick. The newer years don't have photos where I can see the grill, until 1922, by which time it was gone.

In my Buick book by George H.Dammann I can see a nameplate in the middle of the radiator on 1907-1912, after that it has the Buick badge on top of the radiator. Leif in Sweden.

I beleive Leif is correct. My 1913 model 31 has only the little 2" badge on the top front center of the radiator shell.

Dandy Dave's '15 has both. How 'bout it Dave, did you add the Buick Script?
Pete has a picture of an unrestored '15 truck on page 25 of the July 2008 Bugle which also is showing both the script and the badge.

Well, the script is on ebay now, I've decided to sell it. I'm sure I'll never have a Buick to put it on, and someone out there in Buickland will probably be able to use it... or, maybe even make an interesting sign out of it...thank you all for your input, B

I put the Buick Script on the 15. My Guess is that Buick may have droped it when they started to "Nickle" The cars in, I belive, 1913. The First World War was under way in europe in 1914 so my guess is that it would not have been included just for the fact that it would have saved on brass for the war. By this stage in the Auto industry, the general public was tired of polishing brass, and the auto industry took note. Although, I bet one would have been avalible at the dealer, if a customer wanted one. Dave!

Here's a Buick script story you may all enjoy.
13 years ago we rented a house on a lake in Fenton, Michigan while we built our house about a mile away having sold our first house in about a week, ah the good old days of real estate. Fenton is about 18 miles south of Flint with lots of Buick folks, me included. The next door neighbor of this little rental house was a Buick retiree, heck of a nice guy and had several Buick items displayed in his garage. One was a badly beaten brass Buick script. I mentioned to him there had to be a story associated with the script and he said there was indeed.
As a young engineer right after WWII, he was hired and involved in the re-tool for post war production. His first job was the oversight of the removal of a large press from a large pit. In the bottom of the pit was about a foot of muck too thick to pump out so he lead the gang who shoveled it by hand. Great first day he thought. As they got down to the mounting pedestals, there was shim stock used to level the press when it was install, who knows when. Part of the shim stock was the now beaten Buick script on his wall. A souvineer of his first day at work at The Buick.
I borrowed the script and traced it and made my own that now hangs on my wall.

Brian,
Great story. Would it not be nice to have the script he pulled out of the pit. I wonder where it is now?

The last of the special built pedal cars will be going up for sale at the RM Auctions in Scottsdale in January. Built by the renown restorer Fran Roxas, this "Dusey" is truly is another work of art.
