I live in Burtonsville Maryland and yesterday gas came poring out from under the engine. Is there someone local that has experience working on Tc's in the area?

There are two fuel lines on the passenger side at the firewall. Your regular mechanic can do this. Four new clamps like the originals (NOT hose clamps) and two sections of high pressure injector hose.
It's a good idea to have him replace the same lines at the tank and the fuel filter in front of the left rear wheel. And change the filter while he is back there.

While that is being done......all three of my T/C's leaked fuel when over half a tank of gas was in the tank. Turns out the tube you stick the gas pump into goes into the tank through a BIG rubber gromet. All of mine were toast. Most Chrysler dealers stock this part as it is the same used on the Daytona to the mini vans. While back there.....how old is that fuel pump? If you have the tank droped to do all that other work and don't have that original fuel pump replaced---you will regret that. That's how I have $14,000 in repairs to my sons 1990 T/C in 5 years. One thing always leads to another.

Just replaced my original fuel pump on my '89 red/ginger. Wasn't starting when the engine was hot. Also noticed sluggish performance. My mechanic tells me all should be fine from now on.

Did he replace the 19 year old fuel lines and filter? Also if you are getting the pump replaced----drop the tank and replace the rubber that goes between the tank and filler tube. A LOT cheeper to do it all at once. Take it from someone who did not. It's only money.

Yep - he did the whole thing - fuel filter, fuel lines, etc. I can hear the new fuel pump hum a bit when I'm idling, but my mechanic said that's normal - the newer pumps have a lot less insulation in the housing.

Keep your car topped off with gas. These in tank pumps are cooled by the gas. If you always run at 1/4 of a tank or less--you can burn one up pretty quick.

Hi,

I live in Mt. Airy recently purchased a TC (White with black leather). When it came time for the MD Inspection, I took it to the Chrysler dealer (Tate) in Frederick, MD. They still have a mechanic who worked on the TC's when they were new. While mine was in for inspection, there was another TC (black) in for some other repairs. I'm pretty happy with them. Now that the TC is on the road, I'm ready to tackle the cosmetics.
