The Buick Club of America’s 1959 Buick Division is planning a special celebration of the golden anniversary of the 1959 Buick.

The event is scheduled to coincide with the 2009 Buick Club of America National Meet in Colorado Springs, Colorado – July 1 – 4, 2009.

The National Meet logo incorporates the image of a 1959 Buick Estate Wagon.

During the next couple of months, we will take steps to get the word out to all 1959 Buick owners in the BCA. Many of the 1959 Buick owners who attended last week’s national meet in Flint were notified of plans for special recognition of the 1959 Buicks in Colorado Springs.

1959 Buick caravans are currently being discussed among members in Cincinnati, northern California, and Seattle.

Host Hotel

Please set aside the dates and make your hotel reservations as early as possible. Here is the information:

The primary host hotel will be the Crowne Plaza in Colorado Springs.

I have booked my room for arrival on Tuesday, June 30 and departure on Sunday, July 5.

The exact day for the '59 Buick event during the Meet has not yet been selected.

The hotel's telephone number is 719-576-5900.

Ask for Reservations and be certain to request the BCA's room rate ($109.00/night), which will be honored for three days before and after the National Meet for those wishing to extend their visits.

Please watch here for updated information.

If you have questions, please feel free to post them here or e-mail me at: brianL@americanconstco.com

The 1959 Buick event has been scheduled for Thursday, July 2 at 5:00 PM, following all of the regular National Meet tours for the day.

Our event will include a brief driving tour, photo session, and dinner.

More details will follow during the weeks ahead.

Please pass the word along to the '59 Buick owners in your chapters.

Our goal is to have close to double the number of 59s that we had in Seattle which was fourteen but would be nice to round it off to a even 50?

I've heard from six '59 Buick owners who intend to drive their cars from the Seattle area.

To-date, I've heard from several other '59 owners from around the country who plan to display their Buicks. So far, I've had interest from Colorado (2), Minnesota (2), Kansas (3), Missouri (1), Kentucky (1), Ohio (2), Indiana (2), Texas (1), Georgia (2), and California (2).

Brian:

Even though I don't own a 59, and want to buy a 58 Super or Roadmaster with FP, I sure would like to meet up with you Buick guys and possibly ride in one of the 59's with 3T. I will check with the wife and see if she would like to do the trip. Only a 5 hr drive from my home. If you have some more info please PM me. Thanks again.
