Any idea what this wheel fits? It has a 4.40-4.50 x 21" tire on a demountable rim. They are fronts w/o brakes. Any ideas?

Thanks,

I have the same wheels on my 1915 C25 speedster, but they are not original to the car. I too would like to know what they are from. They do fit the car, so my guess is a GM automobile.

In 1930, Buicks jumped from 31", all the way down to 18" with their small series cars, including the Marquette.

If you were to take the rim off the wheel and post a picture of the latch holding the ends of the rim together it would help greatly.

The clamps look like Motor Wheel and may have MW stamped on them, they were used on several makes of wheel. The pic
of the locking mech. and the drive system(pin drive, saddle drive, etc) will help to ID the wheels

OK, I got one of the rims off the wheels and took pictures of the latch. Apparently it straddles one of the lug bolts. The clamps do, in fact, have the words "Motor Wheel" cast into them. I've attached some pictures of the latch itself, which is riveted to the rim.

Thanks to all who replied to my previous post.

Jaxon #29 rims
Were used on Motor Wheel wheels and came as standard equipment on several cars including Dort and Franklin but most likely these are off Essex 1924-26 as they were the highest volume user.
