I just purchased a project car: a 1942 Cadillac Series 60 Fleetwood. What a car! I am looking for discussion with other owners of similar cars. This forum seemed like the place to be!

I bought it in early September. It runs, but roughly. After I drain the old gas out of the tank, I'll put in new and try to tune it up to see what else needs done. I know it needs some transmission work, but I don't think it's in that bad a shape. We purchased it from my wife's uncle. He had taken off all of the chrome and had it replated. Also had it repainted about 10 years ago. The paint job isn't very good, so will probably repaint. I now have to figure out where all of the small chrome pieces go. It also needs some fairly extensive interior renovation. It is the flathead, but I'm not sure of the displacement.

Congratulations Dr Fred. It's a beautiful car. Drop a note if you need assistance with anything. There are some sharp and knowledgeable folks around here. I've asked for help many times and found the suggestions to be very helpful.
