Dear All,

As part of my mechanical restoration for my 733 sedan I have pulled the rear axle/differential from the car and would like to replace the rear axle seals and check the bearings. I was advised that a slide hammer would aid in removing the axle and outer seal, and a seal puller could be used to pull the inner seal. Well, I think the construction of this axle is very different from the mid-thirties axles. Application of the slide hammer resulted in the entire bearing carrier plus axle coming out of the differential. There was an inner bearing cover and seal that was removed, but now I am stuck. How do I get the bearings out?

I have attached a series of photos to aid the discussion.

Thanks tons,

Tom
