i replaced the bottom half of the 91 dolby cassette unit with one i purchased from 1FactoryRadio in Virginia Beach.
the cassette and all functions work well and it apparently has boards for the tuner and equalizer as well. i did not replace the top section as yet. the tuner works great in my low reception area.
still having problems with fade to right side speakers. only works fair when balance is shifted to 100% right.
otherwise speakers sound good and have good power.
bottom half tape $65 +shipping

i believe he mainly sells on ebay , but you may contact him at

hireyburn@yahoo for wants

any ideas about right side channel issues ?
are they controlled by tuner box or cassette box ?

or just bum speakers.
i checked the right rear previously and it worked outside the car. not sure i want to get into the door as i have no idea how to remove or replace the door panel.can you get to the speaker without removing the whole door panel , ie from the grille side ?

thanx

It has been suggested here before that speaker replacement can be done by taking loose the door panels at just the bottom.......
still on my list.
Complete door panel removal has been discussed recently, and may even be on Ronnie's site. cool

found the link and i guess the door panels are not so bad , also found barney on rear panel removal , gonna be a busy saturday

also found what are supposed to be good speaker replacements

installed a replacement tape deck works well except for right side fades. maybe just going to replace rear speaker and see how the sound is.

thanks

The amp is located in the tuner box.
