This time it might be a '96 with the supercharged engine.

Althought I have seven cars, the nice Rivs are getting more and more scarce, and it seems GM (Buick) has gone to sleep and won't be reviving this incredible name again on a sporty 2-door any time soon.

Any owners have any unique experiences with their 1996 Rivs?

My wife drove a '96 Riv and I a '97 as daily drivers for nine years each and neither of us experienced any unusual issues with either car. Both were supercharged and you could just about leave front wheel rubber if you punched it. Tech bulletins recommend that you keep and eye on both the oil pan gasket and rear main seal (some prone to leak). Suspension on the '97 has a little better feel than the '96 (my opinion) due to a design change. We became Riviera fans because of these two cars (but now drive Eldorados). Good luck..I believe you'll be impressed with the '96 - '99 Rivs.
