I really don't have much stuff left to drag down to Hershey this year, how about you? Not funded to buy much either, not that I have a burning desire to find anything. I think eBay has made most swap meets dumping grounds for heavy stuff, and we are running out of vendors that DON'T own a computer. What are your Hershey hopes & plans?

My hope for the meet would be to find enough parts for our three cars that Bill will agree to go back in 2009.

For about three years I have had to beg him to go back each year because we are finding next to nothing for our cars. It is an exspensive trip for us to basically wear out our feet and judge. But I love coming to Hershey and want to for as long as I am able. So many of the friends in our Region that we went to Hershey with have passed on.

My plans are to meet some of the forum folks that I have not met yet. Dizzy Dale cool and windjamer smile for starters. And to get to see as many of the ones I have already met as possible.

It is great to find parts. But Hershey is the one time of year that I get to see some very special people. smile

I have to go. I have not done anything else that week for the last 41 years so I wouldn't know what else to do with that time. Seriously, Hershey is slowly morphing from the world's largest auto flea market into the world's largest family reunion. It's all good!

I'll be there, but don't have a swap meet space. I'll mostly hang around the HCCA, MTFCA and Stanley Museum tents. If the weather isn't too discouraging on Saturday, my son and I will get up at 0-dark-30, drive the 35-or-so miles up from his home in Lititz and park in our respective classes with "do not judge" stickers on our cars. He'll have a 1909 E-M-F; I'll have a 1913 Ford. Stop by and say hello!

I do not have any Swap Meet Spaces.

My friends and I get together and do our annual walk through the swap meet on Friday.
After nine or ten hours and 15-20 miles of walking we then call it a day.
Some of us gather for dinner, relax and get some sleep since we are up early the next morning for the car show on Saturday.

I have yet to find any parts for my vehicles after 5+ years. I have found a number of printed materials that I collect.
When it comes to the Swap Meet at Fall Hershey the fun is in the hunting.... smile

Every year, I wonder why I go. Overpriced hotels, traffic, the usual threat of liquid sunshine...all of it drives me crazy. Then, I remember things like meeting old friends, the greasy but delicious french fries, the Thursday toy and pedal car show and, not to mention, ferreting out those rare and valuable treasures. And, to top it all off, Saturday's car show. I wouldn't miss it for the world! See you there.

I can absolutely guarantee I will find rare, cool parts for my vehicles at a bargain price this year.

...because I don't have any money to spend!

Hershey is one of those places that I have to go every year.
I meet old friends, make new ones, and generally enjoy myself. My sincere gratitude to the hershey region AACA for a fine event.
THANKS

Don't forget the highwheeler event on Friday. A must see if you're a car nut or not. I look forward to that every year and get bummed everytime they cancel it due to rain.

I have been working on planning for a national meet myself, and due to this, my presence on the Forum has been few and far between. Since taking on this task, god bless the Hershey Region for 53 years of headaches. They do a great job, and I envy them. You'll probably never find a more dedicated group of individuals than the members of the Hershey Region and what they do for both the club and the hobby. It is the work that they continue to do is what brings people to AACA.

Oh yes! I forgot about the highwheeler event! I finally took the time to watch it last year. Hundreds of people in the stands cheering for highwheelers racing neck and neck at all of about 30 mph! It was a blast.

I happened to notice a sticker on my toolbox today from the first time I attended Hershey - 1978. 30 years ago, lots of change but still the highlight of the automotive season for me. Looking forward to getting away for a couple days - this year I really need it. Probably spend less than usual and hope to sell a couple items while I am down there.

Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces, maybe meet up with some of the forum folks.

You can get just about anything for a Model A in Hershey!
