Hello Everyone:

One of the three little cables on the driver's side remote mirror has broken.

The break (both cable & housing) is just an inch or two beyond the 'tri-pot' controller. Since the cable was way too long anyway, can I disassemble the
'tri-pot' & shorten all three cables? I know this thingy was not intended to be 'fixed' as everything is 'pressed' together. Having just put the door panels back on,
I really don't want to replace the entire mirror & cable assembly. I can see that there are little balls (no jokes please!) on the end of the three cables which hold
the cables tight in the spring loaded 'tri-pot'.

Your thoughts or experiences are appreciated.
