Hi everyone. I bought a 29 Commander parts car and it was stolen several weeks ago. I live in Orlando and if anyone hears of someone needing a part for a 29/30 Stude in Central Florida, other than myself, please let me know. The part that it would need the most is a front fender as it was missing one. Thanks,<BR>Jairo Patino (Jojo)

I have a somewhat happy ending. About a month and a half ago, I was scouring Ebay for Stude parts. I came across a 29 Commander frame for sale. I looked at it closely and first thing I thought was "Wow, it kinda looked like mine!". The car that was stolen had a piece welded on the front bumper, I assume it was used for towing the car. I looked at the picture and that was the first thing I noticed. I started to read the description and realized this car was in Orlando! I emailed the seller and the VIN matched! I now have the car in my posession but it was severely neglected all these years. The frame is extremely rusty, the radiator grill was too far gone. There are still parts I can use so it wasn't a total loss

Good for you on getting your car back! They should hang car thieves just as they did horse thieves, not just arrest them and then let them go a few minutes later to steal another car. I have had a collector car stolen and stripped and it is an awful feeling to have to re-restore a car you have already finished once.

Did you catch the thieves? I often dream about someone actually catching eBay fences. Even though it all happened in FL, this should be a federal offense because eBay reaches international buyers.
We all love a good deal, but hey, come on; some of the new items on eBay are selling for much less than they cost to produce. Many sellers have LOTS of the same item, too.

Unfortunately there were 5 owners before these people and the oldest owner we traced it back to had died, so I'll never know who really took it.

The last of the special built pedal cars will be going up for sale at the RM Auctions in Scottsdale in January. Built by the renown restorer Fran Roxas, this "Dusey" is truly is another work of art.
