I am about to send my vacuum motor in for rebuilding, but figured I better ask my question before taking it out. Does the motor just dismount with no problems, or do I have to be mindful of anything to do with the cabling system? I'd hate to forge ahead and find I should have asked first. . .

I just installed a new fuel pump and also got up under the dash and made sure all wiper cable pulleys were free. All the ones I could find anyway - 8 total pulleys. With no wiper arms attached, I see good back and forth movement of the cams, but as soon as I put wiper arms back on, there's not enough oomph to move them at all. If there are any other suggestions besides wiper motor, I'm all ears.

Thanks for all the help so far. Loving my '46!

Chris,

There are two screws that hold the motor to the firewall. There is a little rubber grommet on the rotating arm which reduces/eliminates any vibration noise from the unit. Just pull the rubber hoses, unhook the wiper control cable, remove the two screws and you are good.

If the rubber grommet is wrecked do not worry, I put the finger of a rubber glove in there, no noise yet.
