I thought sure the owners manual would cover this but all it says is "motor oil" for the crankcase and "light oil" for the clutch. Can any one translate this into what to use in today's vast market of lubricants? Especially the clutch lubricant. What have you had success with?
Thanks, Howard Dennis

In general terms back when your car was built, motor oil was either 20 or 30 weight and a light oil was something like 3in1 or a turbine oil. All oils today are most likely better than what the maxwell was given when new. Transmissions and differentials in many era cars used a semi fluid grease sometimes made up of chassis grease and oil mixed to the mechanics liking.
