Jim, I too cancelled my room. It took over a week to have a manager (Stacy) call back to take my cancellation. He indicated I would be charged for all the nights - 4- because there was a 4 week notice required to cancel. We had a family death which was the deciding factor for not coming.

Did you have to pay for your rooms??

I also had to cancel and was told I had to talk to the sales dept. Left a message. They wouldn't call me back either. Finally, after 3 calls was given a cancellation # by the front desk. 2 more rooms available. Wish I could be going.

Anyone taking bets that the Reatta Group won't be there next time?

Lots of folks here at the Wingate. Stopped in on Thursday and shot a few frames and again this morning. Skipped over to the Sloan and got a few shots of the Reattas on the grass in front of Whiting. Am planning to hang around again tonight - weather permitting - a see if I can't get an award winning cover (I did shoot a cover for the NCRS at Woodward '06). Will post up some pics in the next few days.

Bob, I am down to paying for only 1 night. They say we were told when registering that there was a 4-week cutoff. I surely would have remembered that!! Can't wait to see my next CC bill.

Did you have to pay for any nights???

I am planning on writing both the Wingate national organization and the Flint tourist group that seemed to have some control over Meet lodging. The Wingate rooms were reserved by a club member on our behalf. He indicated he knew about the 4-week notice, but indicate to the hotel that they had to tell the people reserving rooms.

I was not told about the 4 week cancellation. I started calling during that period but the front desk would not take the cancellation and I had to leave a message for the sales department. They wouldn't call me back. Finally forced the issue with many calls.
If the charge appears on my Amex, will dispute it.

Shame Y'all could'nt come!

I stayed with Dave on Friday, then got a room for Saturday. I paid full rate, ($143 for 1 night), even after Bob Neuman went to bat for me. I guess the hotel did pretty well, as there was full capacity thoughout the time the Reatta division was there, let alone the money made from cancellations, and declining me the group's rate of $89/night.

The hotel did award a trophy to their favorite Reatta, which went to the Bumble Bee custom, a real eye-catcher.
