Hello Jeremy...I only know of a few Valiants like the ones from Australia in the states. Our Valiants (as you probably know) are a Plymouth model, like my Scamp.
I too really like the Aussie Valiant Charger...of course the E49s.
One of my local Chrysler club members has a 1950's era ute from down under.
Cheers!

Jeremy, There's been numerous amount of Plymouth Valiants in Finland in sixties, they were used as taxis/police cars etc. I have had(briefly) a 1964 Plymouth Valiant Signet 2dht(6cyl +automatic).
There's many Valiants still left in Finland, though they are not the primary choice for all car enthusiasts.
In Sweden, the Valiant was a Chrysler Valiant, still looking the same as Plymouth Valiants, only badges were different.
Jeremy, would you like to share a pictures of Australian Valiants?

We also have a old Holden Monaro witch is the same as the Vaxhaul. Reckon I can get some pics up as soon as I can work out how to do that. Its good seeing Chrysler's all over the world. And yes we call our Valiants, [Chrysler Valiants]. I am also keen to see if you have webers sitting around they make our 265 Hemi Motors fly.........
Many Thanks

Here in Canada the Plymouth Valiant and its brother the Dodge Dart were 2 of the most popular cars on the market in the 60s and 70s.
Between myself, my father and brother we owned 7 of them over the years, all slant 6 models.
They were rather tinny but excellent family cars, very reliable and economical.

Hi from down under where the "R" and "S" series Valiants are very collectable. They were Chrysler Valiants here rather than Plymouth, Dodge or just Valiant(as was the case for the first of these in U.S.A.) Only a little over a thousand "R's" were imported in ckd form and assembled here in Adelaide South Australia. They were followed by the "S" series. They were ALL 225 c.i. with none of the 170's.
Quoting from Pedr Davis's "the Valiant book "By the time the R series went on sale (it sold out within days!), Chrysler had imported a large number of updated S series sedans and local assembly had already begun. Chrysler assembled 10000 Valiants in 1962- lifting it's registration figures by 146 per cent. But the company still could not meet demand. By 1963 Chrysler Australia was building Valiants in Australia instead of merely assembling them. The company had started stamping panels and making dies. On May 30 '63 a new model was released, based on the U.S.Valiant but considerably modified for local conditions. In fact, the new model was so 'Australianised'that it shared only six body panels with it's U.S.counterpart. Sorry if I rambled on a bit .-just thought you might be interested. Beetles

Stock car racing legend Smokey Yunick said the slant 6 responded to a few simple hop up tricks, more than any other engine he ever saw.
I believe he was referring to the 1960 Valiant "Hyperpack" kit. It consisted of a 4 barrel carb, intake manifold, cam, valve springs, exhaust system, clutch and pressure plate.
The kit increased the horsepower of the 170 cu in (2.7 litre) engine from 101 to 148, nearly a 50% increase.
This was a dealer installed accessory package made by the Plymouth factory.

May be of interest to you Valiant guys. Here in the US I had a 1963 Dodge Lancer which was the same as the Plymouth Valiant except the Lancer had a fake spare tire cover on the trunk (boot) lid and the radiator grill was different. Mine had the 225 slant six with a 3 speed manual shift trans with the shift lever in the floor. Rather tinny unibody construction but the 225 ran very well.

The 1960-66 Valiant in Canada was sold by both Plymouth and Dodge dealers. Unlike the U.S. where it was a Plymouth Valiant, in Canada it was just Valiant. And the Barracuda was sold as the Valiant Barracuda in 1964-66.
The 1963 and 1964 Canadian Valiants used the Dart body with the Valiant front clip and instrument panel.
For 1965 the Valiant in Canada offered the U.S.-style Valiant as the 100 and Custom 100 as well as the U.S.-style Dart, as the 200 Custom 200 and Signet. All 1965 Valiant, including the Barracuda, used the U.S. Dart instrument panel.
For 1966 the Canadian Valiant was the U.S. Dart with Valiant nameplates and emblems as 200, Custom 200 and Signet.
For 1967 both the Plymouth Valiant and the Dodge Dart were imported from the U.S. along with the Plymouth Barracuda. No more unique Canadian Valiants.
And no compact 1961-62 Lancers or 1963-66 Darts in Canada.

The last of the special built pedal cars will be going up for sale at the RM Auctions in Scottsdale in January. Built by the renown restorer Fran Roxas, this "Dusey" is truly is another work of art.
