Possible causes that I can think of: (A) low compression (B) if vacuum tank, then leaking vacuum valve (C) if electric pump, one with too much pressure. I am sure there are others. carbking Member Registered: 11/26/04 Posts: 602 Loc: MO	The 14991 will handle about 3.5 to 4 psi. The symptom appears to be telling us that the idle is WAY too rich; therefore removing the screw would allow air to enter the system and lean it out. You might also try turning the screw all the way in to see what results you obtain. Jon. _________________________ Good carburetion is fuelish hot air!
