Back in 1981 Bill Cannon was editor of the Antique Studebaker Review and he put together a very thorough two part 13 page illustrated article on how to rebuild Lovejoy shocks used on Studebakers from 1928 to 1930.

I have a 1928 Commander with these shocks and I copied the pages for reference but find infact they are rather complicated and if badly worn on pivot arm shafts would be difficult to rebuild back to operation again.

Skinned Knuckels magazine has a three part series on rebuilding Lovejoy shocks in the August, September and October issues in 1992. The series goes into great detail about doing anything you might want to do with your shocks. I believe Bill Cannon was involved in this also and it may be substantially the same but it might worth looking at. Most old SK issues are still available.

I believe that Apple Hydraulics can rebuild them for you.
