Rick D at rdiperformance.com has a bunch of parts for the 16V motors, unfortunatly last time I asked him about the gaskets, they were all gone He does have the circular 'tube seal' gaskets for the valve covers if that helps, I've got a couple cam belts etc. If your gasket is not ripped or missing chunks, you can stop by a Yamaha motorcycle dealer and get a tube of 'Yamabond' best sealer I've use for valve covers. Whatcha doin under that valve cover anyway ?? Alan

I spoke with 322 on the phone yesterday, he found an auto parts store that lists the 16V valve cover gasket in stock. I told him to look at it, and if it is the correct gasket, buy me 10 of them I've got my fingers crossed OK, not gonns hold my breath... Alan

If you find one, please let me know and you may hurt my feelings. I bought the only one I have ever seen for sale on E-Bay new, in mopar package, and don't ask what I paid. I had already completed the job with other methods, so the gasket is still tucked away. In regards to Rick D, last I talked with him he was going to have tooling made and have a run of 500 16V valve cover gaskets made. I am not sure if it was ever done as he was canvassing for interest, and of course I said yes.

It's OK Tom, I'll tell You outbid me on that auction and if I remember correctly, I 'got out' at $225. so I know that is probably the most expensive bit of rubber you have ever bought I was being sarcastic about the 'parts store' DOHC gasket. No such thing exists, I have followed that road with three major parts chains and each has been a SOHC turbo valve cover gasket after being ordered/paid for/recieved. Each time as soon as I saw the box, I asked to return the part for credit, counter guys are like, "Don't you want to open it or take it home and try it?" No need, thanks. RDI performance has made many previously unavailable DOHC Maserati motor specific parts available to us, for that, each of us that ownes a TwinCam car (or a few ;)) owes Rick some gratitude. He has in the last couple years, relocated to a new city in the sunshine state and built a garage/shop that is larger than my house , so some things have been pushed back some. We can still show support buy purchasing from his line of current DOHC products AND by letting him know that we would buy a valve cover gasket (or three) that will cost $XXX. minumum. His cost outlay to get a product like that built would be HUGE. Maybe some of the members here have the thousands it would take, but I don't Alan

Alan,
I know, Rick has been a lifsaver on many occasions for myself. I think I have purchased enough parts from him to almost have my wife divorce me. I most recently added the stage 2 computer and aftermarket boost valve, and am considering the upgraded turbo he has available. I am planning a trip too Florida next year and hope I can finally meet him in person. We also have sons about the same age that we are both fully corrupting with this car business.
Sorry about outbidding you on the valve cover gasket, I just loose my head for these parts some time.

Tom, You're younger than I would have guessed, I though Rick and myself were the youngest TC owners in the country! (that didn't 'inherit' from Dad that is ;)) Kyle and Jagger (my son) are they same age (within weeks) too. Shortly after I installed a four light air/fuel gauge in my TC, red=lean get off the gas NOW! yellow=probably enough fuel green=plenty safe/rich blue=too much fuel but will quench most detonation or other hazards, Jagger was riding with me and after a few spirited runs through the gears he says, "Make it go blue Daddy!" Talk about corrupting our kids with horsepower Alan

Alan,
My boy, Cole told on me the other day, he told mom that daddy goes fast and makes the tires got "******", and you know the sound. We were racing and 2008 COBRA mustang. The guy in the mustang thought it was a Lebaron, and was amazed when I pulled ahead. I didnt realize the car was that fast, as I just removed some exhaust restriction which has made a very noticable difference in performance. My wife thinks I am crazy when I have him under the car with me when he is not even three. When he has to little to walk or crawl I would put him in the height chair in the garage when I would be working on one my cars. My wife thinks I am nuts, but shes probably right.
As far as age goes, I am 29 and have had my tc since I was 24. It was the first major purchase I ever made without consulting the boss AKA "wife", and I had not even been married a year. I came home from the auto auction with my Dad and informed my wife I had just bought a car. Needless to say she got a new car within two weeks, and all was forgiven:)
Off for Dayton airshow and US airforce museum tomorrow morning so have a good weekend.
