Hi Wayne,

Yes, first, I scanned in some images from old Better Homes & Gardens mags, printed them out on matte brochure paper, and placed the models right in front of the pix. I'm still working on the scale issue; that dog is bigger than the jukebox!

Here are a few more from today with a new, simple base made of charcoal gray matte board,
painted balsa curbing, and fine-grain hobby shop sand for that "gritty, urban look."

Here's all you need. The reflector is foamcore with spray-mounted Reynolds Wrap, on a stand (light weight & adjustable) made of coat hangers. I shoot these on a tripod with a 55-200MM zoom lens to compress everything.

This is the finest home in my town, built in the late-'20's by a leading textile family in the Cotswold style. Naturally, the Garage fascinates me most, so I ran over there today to get an establishing shot. It was an overcast, gray day, with lots of diffused light, perfect for what I needed. One bay has a turntable in it.

What a great idea! Very nicely done, too. Another good source of house pictures are the plan books that show up on eBay from time to time, and usually aren't too pricey to purchase.

Thanks for the inspiration; that '57 Roadmaster image at the GM Tech Center is one of my favorites
(even though it has Super headlight bezels). And that kitchen is straight out of the Jetsonian School of Design!
